FTP Support

The process by which files are transferred to the web server is called File Transport Protocol (FTP). You have unlimited access to your Webtrix hosted website via FTP 24-hours a day. As such, you can create and maintain your web pages on your own computer and upload files to your web site at your leisure.

The information listed below is what you will need in order to connect to your website via FTP using on of the two methods below. In order to FTP, you will need your username, password, and FTP URL provided to you when you signed up. If you cannot find this information, please click here to create a trouble ticket or call us at 1.888.932.8749 today.

Using Internet Explorer as a FTP client:

Step 1. Start Internet Explorer on your workstation.

Step 2. Type the URL as you were provided at the time of signup (i.e. ftp.yourdomain.com).

Step 3. The "Log On As" window will appear. Enter your User Name and Password that you were provided at the time of signup (i.e. domain\username).

Step 4. Click on "Log On" to connect to your FTP site.

You are all done! You now will see a list of files that are the on the web server! You can simply "Drag & Drop" files into the browser window. This will upload the files to the web server.

Using an actual FTP client such as Ipswitch's WS_FTP:

Step 4. Next, enter your User Name as you were provided at the time of signup (i.e. domain\username).

Step 5. Next, click on "Connect" and when prompted, enter your Password and click "OK".

You are all done! You now will see a list of files on the left, which are ones on your local workstation. The ones on the right are the ones on the web server!
